Makes about 6 tortillas
*I use a tortilla warmer to make these, but it MAY be possible to make them in the oven or a frying pan. No guarantees.
WARNING: This is a time consuming project!
2¼ c instant mashed potato flakes*
½ tsp salt (optional)
¾ tsp onion powder
¾ tsp garlic powder
3 c water
1 tsp corn tortilla flavoring (optional)
Cut 2 pieces of parchment the size of the tortilla warmer.
Preheat tortilla warmer.
Add potato flakes and seasonings to the water and corn tortilla flavoring in mixing bowl and stir until well combined.
Thinly spread about ⅓ cup of potato mixture onto 1 piece of the parchment paper and flatten with hand thinly to the size and shape of a tortilla. Place parchment with flattened potato on the heated tortilla warmer and top with 2nd parchment sheet. Close warmer. Cook for 3 minutes, rotating 90 degrees (¼ turn) every 45 seconds. Flip parchment. Repeat cooking and rotating on the other side. Carefully peel** parchment from tortilla and cool on cooling rack. Repeat for all tortillas.
**If parchment does not peel cleanly, more cooking time is required.
